Two Players Selected as VALORANT ‘Heroes’

The ‘2024 Korean Esports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony’ was successfully held on December 19 at the Esports Hall of Fame in Mapo-gu, Seoul. Organized by the Korea Esports Association and sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the event honored esports players who demonstrated outstanding performance throughout the year.

Particularly notable in the VALORANT category were Lakia Kim Jong-min and Munchkin Byeon Sang-beom, who were selected as ‘Heroes’ and drew significant attention.

Two Players Recognized for Consistent Performance

Kim Jong-min demonstrated stable performance in domestic and international tournaments throughout 2024, making a significant impact on the VALORANT community. Byeon Sang-beom, well-known as a Gen.G member, also left a deep impression on fans by serving as a key team member throughout the year.

The ‘Heroes’ category is awarded to active players who meet strict selection criteria, representing official recognition of both players’ exceptional gameplay and contributions to their teams.

Contributing to Korea’s Esports Prestige

The induction ceremony selected a total of 24 recipients, including 15 in the ‘Heroes’ category and 6 in the fan-voted ‘Stars’ category.

The recognition of both players is being evaluated as a symbolic example of VALORANT’s growth alongside Korea’s global esports prestige, with even greater expectations building for their performance in the 2025 season.
